“Poltergeist” – Trulia.com partnership

Beware the Trulia listing for 1295 Brimstone Ave.

Horror films prey on your fears, good advertising preys on the things that we long for. We hit both when it came to home buyers and visitors to our Poltergeist home listing on Trulia. Trulia had the guts to help us out on our campaign. With Trulia’s help, we created a fake listing page meant to grab you with a deal and slowly pull you into the theme of what is the Poltergeist home. What seems like a great home and a perfect fresh start slowly becomes a nightmare. What seems like a normal images gallery of the home’s outside and interior, slowly reveals to be spooky cinemagraphs of paranormal happenings. Not only was this listing a first, but the manner in which we delivered gif animations of photos was also new to the Trulia arsenal. With the help of an accompanying listing video, the campaign was a major success, generating plenty of coverage.
